Many soccer players of all levels get caught in a fear mindset- afraid to mistakes. They end up holding back, overthinking decisions, and doubting abilities.

Fear of mistakes, playing too safe, hesitation or even panic, affects their impact in their sport. This often begins to decrease playing time or performance. They struggle to decide whether to shoot or pass, to make a move or hold the play, to step up into the play, or fall back, leading to less confidence and more indecision.

Tying confidence to results, instead of their capabilities, puts unrealistic pressure to be perfect.

And what about nerves? Many athletes feel nervous even before the game starts - and that’s completely normal. Those nerves are just energy that they need to learn to embrace and channel toward their game plan and preparation. When they understand how to use that energy instead of fearing it, they can stay focused on the process instead of getting overwhelmed by expectations.
